This research aims at finding out the effectiveness of family psychological counseling to develop the skills of mothers for their children with moderate intellectual disabilities to achieve this goal The researcher used the quasi-experimental approach, on a sample of five families and their children in Alti Local Center Al-Kamleen - Sudan, their ages ranged between (4-8) years, they were diagnosed with a moderate intellectual disability using the test of drawing the man for Jawad Anf Harris Rationing Ahmed Farraj and others (2004), where their IQ was (40-55). The study tools consisted of a scale of effective mothers' skills prepared by the researcher, and the family counseling program prepared by the researcher, and the research reached several results, including: The existence of statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the average ranks of the grades of the control and experimental groups after the application of the family counseling program for the benefit of the experimental group. The presence of statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the average ranks of the experimental group scores in the pre- and post-measurements after applying the family counseling program to calculate the post-measurement. There were no statistically significant differences between the average grades of the experimental group in the dimensional and tracer measurements (two months after the end of the program). The research recommends intensifying the psychological counseling skills of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities in all their degrees to be aware of the care of their children, to become self-reliant actors in society.
