المستخلص: المتنبي شاعر صنع لنفسه مكانة في تاريخ الأدب العربي قل أن تجد لها مثيلا، شاعر ثارت في نفسه براكين من المشاعر والعواطف فقذف بها في وجوه محبيه، وترك في عقول متلقيه آثارا من شعره بل ترك في وجدان عامة الشعب العربي من شعره حكما سادت ومازالت حتى صارت تراثا يتوارثه الأجيال دون أن تعرف من صاحبه. المتنبي إنسان يحلم كما يحلم الجميع، وله صفاته وخصاله التي تميزه عن الجميع، ويعيش في عالم الأحلام كما يعيش الجميع إلا أن حلم المتنبي يختلف عن أحلام الجميع، وتتعدد في ذلك الأسباب منها: إصراره الدائم على التفوق والبحث عن المجد والفخر. نشأته التي خرجت به إلى البادية ليتلقى أصول اللغة من أهلها. صباه الذي اضطر فيه إلى إخفاء نسبه ولا نعلم سببا محددا لذلك. شبابه الذي أمضاه بجوار أمير يمثل له صورة القائد العربي كما تنبغي أن تكون. رحلاته التي أخذت به إلى دمشق والكوفة ومصر وغيرها من البلدان. ثورته الدائمة متعصبا للجنس العربي، ورافضا لسيطرة العجم. ووفق هذه الأسباب وغيرها كان المتنبي مختلفا يبحث عن حلم مختلف، يبحث عن عالم موازي، يبحث عن المدينة الفاضلة، تلك التي برزت في شعره سواء قصد ذلك أو لم يقصد. ولما كانت المدينة الفاضلة حلما إنسانيا، ولما كان الفلاسفة أول من تكلموا فيها، ولما كان المتنبي ممن اقترب من عالم الفلاسفة، وعاصر الفارابي كان من الطبعي أن نتناول رؤية المتنبي للمدينة الفاضلة، تلك الرؤية التي تكاد تكون متسقة تماما مع رؤية الفلاسفة لهذه المدينة. سعى الفلاسفة لبناء مدينتهم الخاصة ولم يتوقف المتنبي عن السعي لتكون له مدينة خاصة، جعل الفلاسفة حكم مدينتهم لأصحاب العقول والحكمة، وعرف المتنبي بأنه شاعر الحكمة، حمى الفلاسفة مدينتهم بقوة الجيش وكان المتنبي ممن يرفعون شأن القوة ويتباهى بالفروسية ويمدح القادة الأقوياء ويهدد الضعاف منهم، أراد الفلاسفة لمدينتهم الخلود والبقاء وأراد المتنبي لمدينته أن تملأ ما بين الشرق الذي لا شرق قبله والغرب الذي لا غرب بعده، ليقدم لنا في النهاية ما يمكن أن نطلق عليه " يوتوبيا المتنبي".

Al-Mutanabbi is a poet who made a status for himself in the history of Arabic literature. You can hardly find anything as same., a poet volcanoes of feelings erupted in himself and emotions threw it in the faces of his admirers and he left in the minds of his recipients traces of his poetry, but left in the minds of the common people a rule that prevailed and is still a heritage passed down from one generation to another without knowing who’s its owner. Al Mutanabbi is a man who dreams as everyone, has his own characteristics and attributes that distinguish him from everyone, lives in the dream world as everyone, except that the dream of Al mutanabbi is different from the dreams of the others, for a lot of reasons, such as: - His constant insistence on excellence and the search for glory and pride. - His upbringing that brought him out to the desert to receive the origins of the language from its originals. - His childhood in which he was forced to hide his lineage but we don't know a certain reason for that. - His youth, which he spent by a prince, represents to him the image of an Arab leader as it should be. - His trips that took him to Damascus, Kufa, Egypt and other countries. - His permanent revolution biased to the Arab race, and opposed to the domination of non-arab.. For these and other reasons, Al Mutanabbi was different, looking for a different dream, looking for a parallel universe, looking for a virtuous city, the one that appeared in his poetry whether he intended to or not. Since the virtuous city was a human dream, when the first philosophers spoke about it, and when Al Mutanabbi approached the world of philosophers and he was a contemporary of Al Farabi , it was natural to take on Al Mutanabbi's virtuous city vision, which is almost entirely consistent with that of the philosophers of the virtuous city. The philosophers sought to build their own city; Al Mutanabbi never stopped trying to have a city of his own. The philosophers made the rule of their city to the wise and rational. Al Mutanabbi was known as the poet of wisdom. The philosophers protected their city by the force of the army. Al Mutanabbi was a man who prided strength and knighthood, praised the powerful leaders, and threatened the weak. The philosophers wanted their city to survive and to be immortal. Al Mutanabbi wanted his city to fill between the last dimensions of both east and west, giving us what we might call Al Mutanabbi's Utopia.
