المستخلص: نتطرق بالبحث في هذا المقال إلى سؤال الهوية في الفكر الجزائري خلال العهد الاستعماري، ونسعى من خلاله لإبراز أهم الدوافع للكتابة في هذا الموضوع خلال تلك الفترة، مع التركيز على محددات الهوية الجزائرية هذا الأمر يقتضي من الباحث أولا الإلمام بمفهوم الهوية والتأصيل اللغوي والاصطلاحي له، مع بيان أبعاد الهوية ومستوياتها المختلفة كالبعد المنطقي والبعد الوجودي والبعد السياسي، من أجل الوقوف على مختلف العناصر المشكلة لبنية الهوية عامة والهوية الجزائرية خلال الفترة الاستعمارية على وجه الخصوص، هذا الأخير، هو ما يشكل الشق الثاني من المقال الذي كرسناه لبدايات الاشتغال حول سؤال الهوية في الجزائر في الفترة المذكورة أنفا، باعتباره رد فعل لمحاولة المستعمر الفرنسي طمس الهوية الجزائرية القائمة بالفعل بجميع عناصرها، وقد ركزنا على إبراز العناصر الأساسية المكونة لهذه الهوية وهي البعد الأمازيغي والبعد العربي والبعد الإسلامي، وفي الأخير ركزنا على الجانب السياسي أو فكرة الدولة الجزائرية، باعتبارها الوعاء الذي يحوي مقومات الشعب، فهي الإطار العام الذي تندرج ضمنه جميع المقومات الأخرى للهوية الجزائرية.

In this article, we address the question of identity in Algerian intellect during the colonial era. and through this research, we seek to highlight the most important motives for writing on this subject during that period, with a focus on the determinants of Algerian identity. This requires from the researcher, first, to be familiar with the concept of identity and its linguistic and idiomatic roots, with an explanation of the identity dimensions and its various levels, such as the logical, the existential, and the political dimensions. In order to stand on the various elements that form the structure of identity in general and the Algerian identity during the colonial period in particular, the latter is what constitutes the second part of the article devoted to the beginnings of work on the question of identity in Algeria during the aforementioned period, the question considered as a reaction to the attempt of the French colonizer to obliterate an Algerian identity truly standing with all its elements, We focused on highlighting the main components of this identity, which are the Berber , the Arab, and the Islamic dimensions, and in the end we focused on the political aspect or the idea of the Algerian state ,that is regarded as the field in which the people practice the different expressions of identity, it is the general framework within which all the other components of the Algerian identity fall.
