المستخلص: تعد دار الكتب والوثائق العراقية معلم مهم وصرح كبير بمساحته المعرفية وأمانته في حفظ كل ما يهم الكتاب وبكافة التخصصات، أيضا تتجسد أهميتها عبر مشاركتها في مؤتمرات عديدة بالتوأمة مع مراكز التطوير بمختلف مسمياتها وتوجهاتها وأيضا أمكنتها داخل وخارج العراق، لذا تمتلك دار الكتب والوثائق العراقية دورا كبيرا لما تقدمه من خدمات إلى الباحثين والقراء وطلبة الدراسات العليا وكذلك الحفاظ على الوثائق النادرة، والاهتمام في الحفاظ على حق المؤلف لما له من أهمية على المجتمع العراقي، تكون البحث من مقدمة أكدت فيها على تميز هذه الدار وأهمية دورها على مدار أزمنة من أجل تقديم أفضل الخدمات البحثية عبر المركز الوطني للوثائق في دار الكتب والوثائق، وأيضا لدورها في رفد الأجيال بكل الجزئيات التي يحتاجون لها بالجانب العلمي والفكري، تتمثل مشكلة البحث في عدم وضوح المتغيرات التي جرت بعد الأحداث الكثيرة في العراق، وقد عايشها العديد من العاملين وفي مراحل مختلفة، وأيضا للإجراءات التي اتخذت للمكتبة بعد (2003)، وما تعرضت إليه من سرقة وتدمير وإتلاف متعمد وغير متعمد، وهناك من لم يعيد المصادر التي استعارها؛ ليخرج الباحث بالسؤال الرئيسي: ما أهمية دار الكتب والوثائق العراقية؟ كما أكد الباحث عبر الفرضية الرئيسية: هل هناك اهتمام لمكانة دار الكتب، كمكتبة وطنية، وهل هناك طرق لاستعادة ما يمكن من الوثائق ومصادر المعلومات الأخرى؟

The Iraqi Book and Documentation House is an important landma and a great edifice with its knowledge space and its honesty in preserving everything that concerns writers and all disciplines. Its importance is also embodied through its participation in numerous conferences in the twinning of development centers with their various names and directions, as well as their locations inside and outside Iraq. Therefore, the Iraqi Books and Documents House has a major role for the services it provides to researchers, readers, and postgraduate students, as well as preserving rare documents, and interest in preserving copyright because of its importance to Iraqi society The research consisted of an introduction in which I emphasized the distinction of this house and the importance of its role over the years in order to provide the best research services through the National Center for Documents in the House of Books and Documents, and also for its role in providing generations with all the details they need in the scientific and intellectual aspect The problem of the research is the lack of clarity of the variables that took place after the many events in Iraq, which were experienced by many workers and at different stages, as well as the actions taken for the library after (2003), and the theft, destruction, and deliberate and unintentional destruction, and there are those who did not return the sources that he borrowed. The researcher came up with the main question: What is the importance of the Iraqi Book and Documentation House? The researcher also stressed through the main hypothesis: Is there interest in the status of Dar al-Kutub as a national library, and are there ways to recover as many documents and other sources of information as possible?
