|a تبدو فكرة استخدام "العاطفة Emotion" في تحليل وتفسير الظواهر الجغرافية للوهلة الأولى فكرة غير مقبولة وغير متوقعة لدى الكثيرين، ولكن مع الاجتهاد الجغرافي بداية من مطلع القرن الحادي والعشرين، وزيادة النشر العلمي للدراسات الجغرافية المتخصصة في هذا المجال؛ زاد القبول بالفكرة، وأصبح يفسر بالعاطفة الكثير من علاقات الإنسان المادية داخل الحيز المكاني. ووفقا لفرضية أن سكان الريف أكثر ارتباطا بالموطن من غيرهم؛ فقد استعانت الدراسة بالعاطفة عند تفسير الأسباب الكامنة المؤثرة في الزيادة السكانية بقرى مركز سمنود- محافظة الغربية. وقد دأب الباحثون على دراسة الأسباب المادية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية باعتبارها المؤثرة في النمو السكاني، لكن لم تتطرق في حدود علم الباحث- إلى دور العاطفة باعتبارها بعد ذاتي يفضي إلى سلوك مادي. وقد كشفت نتائج الدراسة الميدانية عن ارتباط٦١٫٢٪ من أفراد عينة الدراسة بعلاقة ارتباط تفاوتت بين "قوية"، وقوية جدا مع قرى المركز والتي يقطنها ٨٠٪ من إجمالي سكان المركز. وينطوي دور العاطفة في تفسير الزيادة السكانية بقرى مركز سمنود على عاطفتي: "الارتباط بالموطن مسقط الرأس"، "وعاطفة الإنجاب فيه".
|b The idea of using the "emotion" in analyzing and interpreting geographical phenomena at first glance is unaccepted and unexpected idea of many, but due to the geographical diligence starting from the beginning of the twenty-first century, and increased scientific publishing for specialized geographical studies in this area; the idea has been broadly accepted, and a lot of objective human relations within the spatial space, are to be explicated through emotion. According to the hypothesis that states that the rural population is more connected to their homeland than the others; the study has used the emotion when interpreting the underlying causes of population increase in the villages of the Samanoud district- Gharbia Governorate. The researchers have consistently been studying the objective causes: social, economic and cultural as affecting population growth, but they these causes haven’t included- within the scope of the researcher's knowledge- the role of emotion as a subjective dimension that leads to material behavior. The results of the field work have revealed a connection between 61.2 percent of the study samples that ranges from "strong", and " very strong" with the villages of 80% of the total population. The role of passion involves the interpretation of the phenomenon of population increase in the villages of the Samanoud district on two emotions: that is, "their emotional attachment to their place of birth", and "their emotion of reproduction in that particular place "
