المستخلص: تركز هذه الدراسة على دور الجامعة في تنمية الوعي السياسي لدى الشباب، الأسئلة الرئيسة للبحث هي ما إذا كان للجامعة دور إيجابي في تعزيز الشعور بالوطنية لدى الشباب؟ هل للجامعة دور في توعية الطلبة بالتحديات التي يواجهها المجتمع؟ لذلك تكمن مشكلة البحث في محاولة الإجابة على الأسئلة أعلاه عبر تنفيذ الإجراءات الميدانية. ولكن فيما يتعلق بأهداف البحث، فهناك هدفان، يحاول الباحثان مناقشتهما عن طريق الخطوات الميدانية للبحث، الهدف الأول هو قياس دور الجامعة في رفع الوعي السياسي لدى الشباب من منظور طلبة الجامعة، أما الهدف الثاني فهو التمييز بين تصورات الطلاب لدور الجامعة في توعية الشباب السياسية بحسب كل من متغيراتها: الجنس، والكلية، والمرحلة الدراسية، والانتماء السياسي. هذه الدراسة عبارة عن دراسة وصفية استعملت فيه منهج المسح الاجتماعي بطريقة العينة، ولهذا الغرض تم اختيار عينة مقصودة قوامها (100) طالب وطالبة من جامعة السليمانية من كل من كليات العلوم، والعلوم الإنسانية وبذلك تم قبول (50) طالبا وطالبة في قسم علم الاجتماع في المرحلتين الثالثة والرابعة في كلية العلوم الإنسانية، و(50) طالبا وطالبة في قسم الفيزياء في كلية العلوم من كلا الجنسين. وفيما يتعلق بأدوات البحث، فقد استعمل الباحثان مقياس ليكرت الخماسي لبناء المقياس، ثم جرت محاولة استعمال برنامج (SPSS) لإجراء التحليل اللازم لفقرات المقياس ومناقشة أهداف البحث بطريقة علمية مبنية على الإحصاء الوصفي، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الطلاب في المرحلة التعليمية، ولكن لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الطلاب في المتغيرات الأخرى.

This study focuses on the role of the university in developing political awareness among youth. The main questions of the research are whether the university has a positive role in promoting a sense of patriotism among young people? Does the university have a role in educating students about the challenges faced by the community. Therefore, the problem of the research is to answer the above questions through the implementation of field procedures. But with regards to the objectives of the research, it seems that the researchers have two goals and try to discuss through the field steps of the research. The first objective is to measure the role of the university in raising political awareness among young people from the perspective of university students. The second objective is to distinguish between students’ perceptions of the university’s role in educating political youth according to each of its variables: gender, college, academic level, and political affiliation. This study is descriptive where the social survey method is used in a sampling manner. An intentional sample of (100) male and female students from the University of Sulaimani was selected from each of the faculties of sciences and human sciences. Thus, 50 male and female students were accepted in the Department of Sociology for the third and fourth stages. The College of Humanities and (50) male and female students in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science of both sexes. As to the research tools, the researchers used the Likert quintuple scale to build the scale, and then the SPSS program is used to conduct the necessary analysis of the scale’s paragraphs and discuss the research objectives scientifically based on descriptive statistics. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between students in the educational stage, but there are no statistically significant differences between students in other variables.
