المستخلص: احتلت مدينة الإسكندرية مكانة مهمة في القرن الرابع الميلادي، فهي لم تكن عاصمة لأهم ولايات الإمبراطورية البيزنطية فحسب، بل لعبت دورا مهما في عالم السياسة، وكانت كنيستها قلعة الدفاع عن المسيحية، مما جعلها قرنين من الزمان، بعد أن باتت المدينة مركزا للصراع الذي لا فريسة للاضطرابات والقلاقل لمدة تزيد عن هوادة فيه؛ الصراع بين أباطرة القسطنطينية، والمصريين الثائرين عليهم، وعلى استبدادهم، وكان عصر الإمبراطور قنسطنطيوس من أهم تلك الفترات المضطربة التي تعرضت لها الإسكندرية في مواجهة اضطهاد أباطرة بيزنطة، وذلك من خلال ما تتناوله الدراسة عن تفاصيل تلك الاضطهادات، وما صاحبها من عنف ودموية ظاهرة، وتسليط الضوء على مدى نجاح السكندريين في التصدي لطغيان السلطة البيزنطية الحاكمة

The city of Alexandria occupied an important place in the fourth century AD, as it was not only the capital of the most important states of the Byzantine Empire, but also played an important role in the world of politics, and its church was the castle for the defense of Christianity, which made it prey to turmoil and unrest for more than two centuries, after it became The city is a center of relentless conflict; The struggle between the emperors of Constantinople, the Egyptians revolting against them, and their tyranny, and the era of Emperor Constantius was one of the most important of those turbulent periods that Alexandria was subjected to in the face of the persecution of the emperors of Byzantium, through what the study deals with about the details of these persecutions, and the accompanying violence and apparent bloody, and shed Spotlight on the extent of the success of the Alexandrians in confronting the tyranny of the Byzantine ruling authority.
