المستخلص: Highly reputed in media and political debates, mainly after the urban riots of the 1980s, until the most violent ones in 2005, the suburbs seem to bring together the most disparate and pejorative connotations by associating it with the phenomenon of migration. Clichés consolidated by a cinematographic machine restrained by its technical defects and which prevents it from representing this community in these different facets. The film production dealing with this sensitive subject, lucidly or unconsciously, only deepened the wound. Writers of so-called “suburban” literature reject these stereotypes and demand more recognition. They have contributed to bringing new perspectives of analysis to the already known representations of sensitive neighborhoods. The relationship between the text of this generation of writers and its referent has been rethought with a realistic metaphor.

Très réputé dans les débats médiatiques et politiques, principalement après les émeutes urbaines des années 1980, jusqu’à celles les plus violentes en 2005, la banlieue semble rassembler les connotations les plus disparates et péjoratives en l’associant au phénomène de la migration. Des clichés consolidés par une machine cinématographique bridée par ses défauts techniques et qui l’empêche de représenter cette communauté dans ces différentes facettes. La production filmique traitant ce sujet sensible, de façon lucide ou inconsciente, n’a fait qu’approfondir la plaie. Les écrivains de la littérature dite de « banlieue » refusent ces stéréotypes et revendiquent davantage de reconnaissance. Ils ont contribué à apporter de nouvelles perspectives d’analyse aux représentations déjà connues des quartiers sensibles. Les rapports entre le texte de cette génération d’écrivains et son référent ont été repensés avec une métaphore réaliste.
