المستخلص: عرض الفكرة التصميم ومحتواها بالأساليب والأدوات المادية المختلفة في عرض مستندات المنتج الصناعي. يتم نقل كل الأفكار الخاصة بمراحل عملية التصميم للمهتمين. والتي نسعى لتطويرها باستخدام التقنيات المتطورة. ومع مواكبة الألفية الثالثة اتضح ظهور الكثير من التقنيات الحديثة ومنها الواقع الافتراضي وتطبيقاته المختلفة في مجال إطار برنامج التصميم بدلا من استخدام الطرق المادية التقليدية. وكثيرا ما يستخدم لوصف واقع افتراضي تشكيلة واسعة من التطبيقات المرتبطة والتي تحتوي على بيئات مرئية عالية الجودة ثلاثة الأبعاد النظري، وأيضا استطاع العلماء إضافة مجموعة من التطبيقات الحسية التي تؤثر في اتخاذ القرار من خلال تفاعل مجموعة من حواس المستخدم مثل الإحساس (الحركة) والشم (الروائح) وغيرها، لنستطيع إيصال المستخدم أن يحصل على أقصى درجات الواقعية. يراعى في تطبيقات الواقع الافتراضي أن تكون ثلاثية الأبعاد وأن تسمح بتجسيد الواقع الحقيقي بأبعاده المختلفة، وزواياه البصرية، وعناصره المتداخلة المصممة لمخاطبة الإدراك الحسي البصري في المقام الأول، فتكنولوجيا الواقع الافتراضي هي عبارة عن مستحدث تكنولوجي يوفر بيئة ثلاثية الأبعاد تقدم للمهتمين من أجل إدراك التصميمات للمنتجات وأبعادها والتفاعل مع عناصرها بطريقة توهمه بأنه يعيش جزءا من المشهد الذي يتابعه بصورة واقعية. وعليه ينبغي الاهتمام بالفروق التي نتجت من التطور التكنولوجي في عصرنا الحديث. لتصنع الإضافة في مجال إظهار المنتج الصناعي. أهمية الواقع الافتراضي في أنه مثل الواقع الحقيقي كأنه هو، فهو يعتبر وسيلة فعالة لمحاكاة الواقع مهما كان ظروفه وصعوبته فمن خلاله يمكن تكوين بيئات مختلفة تحكي الواقع لا يمكن للفرد الوصول إليها أو التعايش.
