المستخلص: تدخل هذه الرواية الأدبية عالم الفن من أوسع أبوابه، ففيها من الوحدة الفكرية والروحية والنفسية التي تجمع عناصر التجربة، من الجد إلى الحفيد إلى المرأة إلى الميت إلى الملكين، وثمة تلك الخلفية الواحدة من أهل القرية ودورها ومقابرها وحقولها، وأطياف المدن باختلاف درجاتها في وعي خبرة الموت والحياة، وهو الاختلاف الذي يكشف عن منحنى التطور في وعي الفرد ووعي الجماعة. وهكذ وحدة التجربة ذاتها بمختلف مراحلها، تتنوع الأدوار ولكنها تتكامل في النهاية كسمفونية يشترك في أدائها عشرات العازفين، تبدأ بوعي فكرة الموت من خلال خبرة التاريخ، وتمر بخبرة حياة الميت حين يمر بامتحان الموت والحساب ثم يأتي نشور الحفيد في الدنيا ليكتمل البناء، ويتم استيعاب الخبرة. على أن الوحدة العظمى على تلك التي تنبع من لغة الرواية وهي لغة خاصة جدا، اختار الكاتب فيها كل جملة وكل كلمة وكل حرف. وهي مثل أي رواية، رغم النزعة العقلانية في بعض فصولها تومئ إلى اتجاهات أكثر مما تشير إلى حلول، فالحلول دائما تبقى مسئولية أصحاب المواقف في كل جيل، وفق تقديرهم الخاص لواقع ظروفهم. على أن الاتجاه إلى ضرورة الإنصات لصوت الداخل والاهتمام بالآخر، والاقتراب الحميم من عالم الطبيعة ودفء الناس، هو أكثر ما نحتاجه في عصر المؤسسات العملاقة التي تسحق نبض الفرد، وتعمل على تنميته وصياغة حاجاته وفق حاجاتها.

The unity of the experience itself in its various stages, the roles vary, but in the end they are integrated as a symphony in which dozens of musicians participate in its performance. It begins with the awareness of the idea of death through the experience of history, and passes through the experience of the life of the dead when he passes the test of death and reckoning, then the resurrection of the grandson in the world comes to complete the construction, and the experience is absorbed. However, the greatest unity is that which stems from the language of the novel, which is a very special language, in which the writer chose every sentence, every word, and every letter. It is like any novel, despite the rational tendency in some of its chapters that points to directions more than it points to solutions. Solutions always remain the responsibility of those who hold positions in each generation, according to their own assessment of the reality of their circumstances. However, the tendency towards the necessity of listening to the voice of the interior and caring for the other, and intimate approach to the world of nature and the warmth of people, is what we need most in the age of giant institutions that crush the pulse of the individual, work on his development and formulate his needs according to their needs.
