في ضوء الفرضية التي انطلقنا منها، جاء موضوع البحث في قسمين: تناولنا في الأول ظهور مفهوم النسوية وتطوره في الفكر الغربي. حيث توقفنا بالبحث والتحليل والدراسة على تلك القضايا والمشكلات التي تسببت في ظهور النسوية والتفكير النسوي في المجتمعات الغربية، عبر ثلاث محطات تاريخية كبرى، هي التنوير والحداثة، وما بعد الحداثة. محاولين من خلال ذلك الكشف عن تلك المواقف والأحداث والممارسات المتعددة، التي تحددت على أساسها طبيعة العلاقة بين المرأة والآخر "الرجل"، وكيف واجهت النسوية تلك الوضعيات التي تشكلت في سياقها، وشكل جزءا من تاريخها الممتد عبر قرابة ثلاثة قرون من الزمن. وفي القسم الآخر من الموضوع تركز البحث، في واقع النسوية العربية في عصر العولمة. ويستهل الجزء الخاص، بالنسوية العربية، بعرض سريع ومكثف للمسار التاريخي للحركات النسائية العربية وتطورها الفكري والسياسي، بدءا من عصر النهضة العربية، ثم مرحلة الثورات التحررية وقيام الدولة الوطنية، بغرض التمهيد للوقوف أمام حال النسوية العربية في ظل العولمة وثورة المعلومات، وظهور تيارات فكرية وفلسفية جديدة، وغيرها من العوامل التي مارست دور مؤثر في التغيير الملحوظ الذي أخذ يشهده واقع النسوية العربية خلال السنوات الأخيرة من القرن العشرين وبداية القرن الحالي.
The hypothesis of this paper is that the improvement of women's conditions at one time does not mean that women have attained their full political rights and freedoms and other natural rights. Women's achievement of official egalitarianism, under state laws and legislations, also does not denote that they have been practically liberated from all different forms of subjugation/domination, discrimination and exclusion which have been inflicted upon them at the whole socio-economic, political and cultural levels. Accordingly, the scope and nature of this topic have required that this paper should be divided into two main sections. The first one deals with the concept of "feminism" as posited by the western thinking through the context of the historical development of the feminist thought and movement starting from the Renaissance to the recent time which is characterized by globalism, postmodernism and advancement in info media. The other section discusses the topic of Arab feminisms in the age of globalism, i.e., under what has been posited by the newest historic transformations, globalization manifestations and information advancements in the form of cognitive, social, economic and political challenges that have affected the Arabs' life in general and women's life and future in the Arab societies in particular. Women still face hard and complicated reality that hinders their aspirations to progress and liberation under a dominating masculine culture replete with gloomy and negative images and attitudes towards them, particularly that of the official policies in which vocabularies there is no respected place for women.
