المستخلص: كان هدف الإنسان القديم منصبا دائما عن البحث عن وسيلة، يمكن من خلالها إدامة نمط حياته وتأمين حماية فعالة لها، يدرأ بها الإخطار المحدقة به من كل جانب ابتداء من مشاكل تقلبات الظروف المناخية والطبيعية من حوله، والتي لم يعرف كيف يسيطر عليها، مرورا بحماية نفسه ودوابه من أن تقع فريسة للحيوانات المتوحشة، ثم كان عليه أيضا أن يحمي نفسه من جيرانه من بني البشر الساكنين معه والمتطلعين لممتلكاته بعين الطمع، أو يدفع خطر أعدائه التقليديين سكان المستوطنات الأخرى الذين تستويهم السلطة، وحب التوسع والتفرد بامتلاك مقاليد الأمور. لذا كان اهتمامه بالعمارة كبيرا وطور مبانيه إلى ما وصلنا إليه اليوم. تكمن مشكلة البحث في أهمية مبنى عطشان ولماذا لم نعرف ماهية هذا المبنى أو تأريخه وعمارته، لذا سنسلط الضوء على الآراء في تأريخ وتسمية المبنى ونبحث عن حقيقة المبنى الأثري المهم في تاريخ العراق، إذ سأبحث في موقع المبنى والآراء حوله وتخطيطه وعمارته للوقوف على حقيقة هذا المبنى وماذا كان يستعمل على قديما.

The aims of ancient man were to focus upon the search for a way through which he could perpetuate his lifestyle and insurance effective protection for it, by which he would ward off the surrounding dangers facing him, starting with the problems of fluctuations in the climatic and natural conditions around him, which he did not know how to control, passing through the protection of himself and his animals. From falling prey to wild beasts, he also had to protect himself from his human neighbors who lived with him and coveted his possessions, or to ward off the danger of his traditional enemies, the inhabitants of other settlements who were tempted by power and love of expansion and exclusivity by owning the reins of affairs. So, his interest in architecture was great and he developed his buildings to what we have reached today. The problem of this research lies in the importance of a thirsty building and why did you not know what this building is or its history and architecture, so we will shed light on the opinions on the history and naming of the building and search for the truth of the important archaeological building in the history of Iraq. The building and the views about its planning and architecture, to find out the truth about this building and what it was used for in the past.
