يعد الأرشيف العثماني مصدراً أساسيا لتاريخ الدولة العثمانية، إذ يحتوي كماً هائلاً من الوثائق النادرة البالغ عددها ما يقرب من (مئة وخمسين مليون) وثيقة، ومن أجل الاستفادة من معلومات هذه الوثائق في سياق التاريخ العثماني تجب الإحاطة بكل جوانب هذه الوثائق والتي منها جانب الخطوط إذ من خلالها يمكن الوصول إلى المعلومة التاريخية في الوثيقة العثمانية بشكل افضل، فبهذا جاء هذا البحث بعنوان: (خطوط وثائق الأرشيف العثماني : دراسة تاريخية) تكون البحث من ثلاثة مباحث، إذ بين المبحث الأول : تاريخ نشأة الخطوط، أما المبحث الثاني وقع بعنوان: نبذة عن تأسيس وأهمية الأرشيف الوثائقي العثماني، وتناول المبحث الثالث : نماذج عن خطوط وثائق الأرشيف العثماني، واعتمد البحث على وثائق الأرشيف العثماني ومصادر وثائقية تركية وعربية والبحوث والدراسات وغيرها وتبين أن خطوط وثائق الأرشيف العثماني كانت متنوعة، واهتمت الدولة العثمانية بالخطوط اهتماماً كبيراً، وكذلك ابتكر الخطاطون العثمانيون خطوطاً جديدة والتي منها الخط الديواني (الهمايوني) وخط سياقات وخط الرقعة، وكتبت بهذه الخطوط الكثير من وثائق الأرشيف العثماني، ومارس السلاطين العثمانيون كتابة الخطوط، واصبحوا خطاطين بعد أن أتقنوا الخطوط الصعبة.
The Ottoman archive is a basic source for the history of the Ottoman Empire, as it contains a huge amount of rare documents, numbering approximately (one hundred and fifty million) documents, and in order to benefit from the information of these documents in the context of Ottoman history, all aspects of these documents must be taken into account, including the side of the lines, through which the historical information in the Ottoman document can be better accessed, Thus, this research came entitled: (Lines of Ottoman Archive Documents: A Historical Study) The research consisted of three sections, as the first section: the history of the emergence of lines, the second section was entitled: a brief about the establishment and importance of the Ottoman documentary archive, and the third topic dealt with: models of the lines of the Ottoman archive documents, and the research relied on the documents of the Ottoman archive and Turkish and Arab documentary sources, research, studies and others. It turned out that the lines of the documents of the Ottoman archives were diverse, and the Ottoman Empire paid great attention to the fonts, as well as the Ottoman calligraphers invented new lines, including the Diwani (Hamayouni) line, the line of contexts and the patch line, and many documents of the Ottoman archives were written in these fonts, and the Ottoman sultans practiced writing calligraphy, and they became calligraphers after they mastered the difficult lines.
