تكمن معضلة الفيلسوف العربي في قصور الأدوات ووسائل التفكير السليم وفقا "لمرجعية الرؤي المعاصرة، فالأمر لا يخلو من ثمة مغالطة والتباس في استخدام تلك الأدوات وهذه الوسائل، فنفض الغبار عن كل ما هو إنساني والاعتماد علي تنمية المجتمعات العربية والإسلامية ثقافيا" وتوسيع دائرة الوعي بالواقع ومستجداته وتعزيز ثقة المواطن في نفسه وتحسين قدراته الذاتية، ودعم الثقافة علي كل المستويات خاصة الثقافة العلمية، لا يعنى النكوص، أو الانكفاء علي الذات، بل التعامل مع الحضارات المعاصرة علي أساس التكافؤ والحوار الإيجابي. إذن من الواضح أن ثمة تقابل ذهني بين فهم ثقافة الآخر وبين محاولة الانصهار فيها، فالعمل على فهم الآخر في تناول أدواته شيئا مباح إذا أدي هذا الاستخدام إلى بناء كيان خاص قادر علي الحوار والتكافؤ. فرؤيتنا نحو تقدم الغرب لا يمكن أن تنسيني تراثنا فهو ماضينا، هو سلفنا هو جزء من هويتنا، لكننا يجب أن نفرق بين ما يدرس ويصان حفاظا" على التاريخ، وبين ما يدرس ويصان لأنه لا يبلى بعوامل الزمن، كالأدب شعرا ونثرا"، وكفقه الفقهاء، ولغتنا العربية وعلم العلماء، وغير ذلك مما تظل مشكلاته واردة مهما تغيرت عليه صور الحياة مع تغير العصور.
