هذه الدراسة تهدف إلى التعرف على دور الجامعات السعودية في الحفاظ على أمن المعلومات في البيئة الجامعية من وجهة نظر طلابها، جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية أنموذجا. يتضمن الهدف الرئيس مجموعة من الأهداف الفرعية وهي التعرف على مدى معرفة الطلاب بمفهوم أمن المعلومات ومستوى وعيهم بأمن المعلومات والمفاهيم المتعلقة به، ومدى تطبيقهم للمتطلبات اللازمة لتحقيق أمن المعلومات، والتعرف على دور الجامعة في الحفاظ على أمن المعلومات في البيئة الجامعية من وجهة نظر الطلاب، وتم استخدام المنهج المسحي. وبشكل عام كان لدى الطلاب المشاركين معرفة بمفهوم أمن المعلومات وأهم مصدر لهذه المعرفة هو التصفح عبر شبكة الإنترنت يلي ذلك المقررات الدراسية، وأن مستوى توفر الوعي بأمن المعلومات والمفاهيم المتعلقة بها لدى الطلاب كان جيدا، وهناك موافقة إلى حد ما من قبل عينة الدراسة على تطبيق الممارسات الآمنة لحماية معلوماتهم، وهناك موافقة على دور الجامعة في الحفاظ على أمن المعلومات والمخاطر التي تهددها وتنمية الوعي الأمني لدى طلابها. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى وعي الطلاب بأمن المعلومات تعود لاختلاف النوع أو الجنس أو التخصص، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى وعى أفراد عينة الدراسة بأمن المعلومات تعود لاختلاف مدى توفر المعرفة بتكنولوجيا المعلومات لدى الطلاب، وهناك علاقات طردية (موجبة) بين مستوى الوعي بأمن المعلومات وبين تطبيق الطلاب للمتطلبات اللازمة لتحقيق أمن المعلومات.
This study aims to identify the role of Saudi universities in maintaining information security in the university environment from the perspective of its students. Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is a model. The main objective includes a set of sub-objectives which are to identify the extent of students' knowledge of the concept of information security, their level of awareness of information security and related concepts, the extent of their application of the requirements necessary to achieve information security, and the university’s role in maintaining information security in the university environment from the students' perspective, the survey approach was used. In general, the participating students had knowledge of the concept of information security, the most important source of this knowledge is browsing through the Internet then the courses, the level of awareness of information security and its related concepts among students is good, there is approval by the students to apply safe practices to protect their information, and there is approval to the university’s role in maintaining the security of information and the risks that threaten it and developing security awareness among its students. There are no statistically significant differences in the level of students 'awareness of information security due to the difference of gender, sex or specialization, and the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of awareness of the study sample members of information security due to the difference in the extent of students' knowledge of information technology, there is Positive relationship between the level of awareness of information security and students' application of the requirements necessary to achieve information security.
