المستخلص: استخدم الشعراء الإنجليز أسلوب التقديم والتأخير في مختلف الحقب الأدبية. ونظرا لهذا الاستخدام المتكرر للتقديم والتأخير لبعض الألفاظ في قصائد عديدة فإنه قد يشكل على القراء الغير متبحرين فهم هذا الأسلوب الشعرى. ولهذا فإن هدف هذه الورقة البحثية هو توضيح هذا المصطلح الأدبي وكيفية وأسباب استخدامه. كما تضم الدراسة تحليلا لعدد من الاقتباسات لأشطر شعرية تحتوي على التقديم والتأخير. الأمر الذي سيسهم في فهم أعمق للتأثير الذي يلعبه التقديم والتأخير في الأعمال الشعرية. وتنهج الدراسة المنهجية الوصفية خلال تحليل البيانات. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى أن الشعراء كثيرا ما وظفوا التقديم والتأخير لأسباب كان من أهمها الحفاظ على وحدة القافية الشعرية وجمالها.

Anastrophe has been widely employed by many English poets throughout successive literary eras. Due to such excessive use of Anastrophe, the current study explores the reoccurrence of Anastrophe in various English poems. Very often, it is not easy for ordinary readers to understand or use anastrophe correctly. Due to such ambiguity of the use of Anastrophe, it may result in a sort of confusion to some readers. Hence, the target of this paper is to illustrate the term of Anastrophe and to shed the light on why and how it is used. This paper also covers the analyses of several verses and poetical quotes where Anastrophe has been used. This will definitely bring about a profound understanding for the effect which Anastrophe has in the poetical work. The present study follows qualitative descriptive method for the analysis of the data. The findings of the current study revealed that poets have widely used Anastrophe for the purpose of decoration and unification of rhyme.
