المستخلص: L’oeuvre de Stéphanie Nassif Le Silence des cultures est à la fois une réflexion philosophique et un conte romantique narrant une histoire d’amour entre deux personnes de cultures différentes. Il s’agit d’un parcours allégorique qui commence au coeur de « la Vallée du silence ». Cet espace symbolise un cheminement difficile à parcourir entre deux cultures différentes : l’une occidentale, l’autre orientale. Il représente aussi la rencontre entre ces deux cultures. Cette rencontre initiée à travers l’espace, n’est qu’un enrichissement mutuel qui offre une lumière d’espoir à transmettre à la génération future. D’une part, l’accent sera mis sur la vallée comme un espace allégorique illustrant la relation entre deux peuples différents. D’autre part, nous étudierons les variations sociolinguistiques et les procédés linguistiques qui sont mis en jeu lors de la narration et qui reflètent deux espaces différents.

Stéphanie Nassif's work "The Silence of Cultures" is both a philosophical reflection and a romantic tale telling a love story between two people from different cultures. It is an allegorical journey that begins in the heart of “the Valley of Silence”. This space symbolizes a difficult journey to navigate between two different cultures: one Western, the other Eastern. It also represents the meeting between these two cultures. This meeting initiated through space is only a mutual enrichment, which offers a light of hope to pass on to the future generation. On the one hand, the emphasis will be placed on the valley as an allegorical space illustrating the relationship between two different peoples. On the other hand, we will study the sociolinguistic variations and the linguistic processes which are involved during the narration and which reflect two different spaces.
