المستخلص: تتناول هذه القراءة كتابا مخطوطا في الفكر السياسي، سلخ مؤلفه الدكتور أنطوان معلوف زهاء نصف قرن لتأليفه ابتداء من الحرب اللبنانية العام 1975، وبناه على ما عاناه وعاينه في أسفاره وقراءاته، وعلى ما استقرأه من أحداث عصفت وتعصف بوطنه. تحاول هذه القراءة الربط بين نتاج المؤلف الأدبي والبحثي مسرحا ورواية ومقالة ودراسة، لترسم مشروعا نهض به المعلوف منذ ستينيات القرن الماضي حتى اليوم، وتجلو رؤيا وطنية مفادها أن لبنان، في العمق والأصل، ليس مذابة ولا حانا وخانا ودكانا، بل معاقل جماعات لجأت إليه حفاظا على حريتها وخصوصيتها الروحية والثقافية. وعليه، فإن لبنان يكون "حالة" روحية ثقافية سياسية معا تقوم على التعددية، وتكون قدوة في الحوار والتكامل لصالح بنيه أولا، ولصالح العرب والمسلمين والمسيحيين، والشرق والغرب، قدوة يحسن صوتها والتمثل بها في عالم جار نحو العالمية (ولا يقول العولمة، وإلا يكون لبنان "عالة" روحية ثقافية سياسية معا، وبؤرة للعصبية والقبلية والجاهلية يخشى امتداد عدواها، ويحسن زوالها والتخلص منها.... تعرض هذه القراءة بالتفصيل لمفهوم الوصية الوطنية- وفق رؤيا أنطوان معلوف- ولقدر لبنان وهويته ولخصوصيته الثقافية ودوره، ولأسوار الوطن الخفية المتمثلة في ميثولوجيته الغنية وتاريخه المديد وإبداعات شعرائه وكتابه وفنانيه... وصولا إلى استشراف لبنان جديد انطلاقا من إعادة بناء الثقافة الوطنية.

This reading delves into a manuscript book on political thought written by Dr. Antoine Maalouf over the course of almost half a century, starting from the Lebanese Civil War of 1975. It would be a model whose voice and emulation can contribute to improvement in a world progressing towards internationality. The author refrains from explicitly labelling it as globalization. Doing so might risk perceiving Lebanon as a spiritual, cultural, and political "ailment" or a breeding ground for fanaticism, tribalism, and ignorance—posing a threat to be eliminated and eradicated. This reading provides a comprehensive exploration of the concept of the national will, as envisioned by Antoine Maalouf. It delves into the fate of Lebanon, examining aspects such as its identity, cultural distinctiveness, role, and the concealed facets of the homeland, encompassing its rich mythology, extensive history, and the creative expressions of its poets, writers, and artists.
