يرتبط التركيز المعاصر على أسئلة الهوية ارتباطا وثيقا بالتحول الاجتماعي والثقافي في التحليل الاجتماعي، ويثير هذا التركيز قضايا التمثيل والانعكاسية والبناء الرمزي التي تعتبر جوهرية في مجال علم الاجتماع حديثا. وتوفر نظرية الهوية المبادئ والأسس التي تساهم في تفسير وتحليل المعاني والرموز المرتبطة بهويات الأفراد والمجتمعات التي تظهر أثناء التفاعل الاجتماعي، وتمثل تجاربهم وخبراتهم في الحياة اليومية. وتهدف المقالة الحالية إلى تقديم نموذج اجتماعي معرفي لنظرية الهوية، من خلال عرض الجذور النظرية لنظرية الهوية المستمدة من التفاعلية الرمزية، ومناقشة أهم مبادئ وأسس النظرية، كما تم استعراض المفاهيم الخاصة بها، وختاما تم الخروج بمجموعة من الاستنتاجات المستخلصة من مناقشة النظرية. وقد توصلت النتائج إلى أن نظرية الهوية تساهم في فهم وتفسير وتحليل المعاني والرموز المتعلقة بخبرات وتجارب الأفراد المتغيرة في المجتمع المعاصر. فيما يتعلق بالأدوار والسلوكيات والهياكل الاجتماعية داخل المؤسسات الاجتماعية. كما توصلت النتائج إلى أن نظرية الهوية تسمح بالانتقال بمفهوم الهوية من التعريف المجرد إلى معايير ومحددات تسمح بتحديد وتصنيف الهوية كمتغير يمكن دراسته منهجيا.
Contemporary focus on identity questions is closely linked to social and cultural transformation in social analysis, and this focus raises issues of representation, reflectivity and symbolic construction that are central to sociology. Identity theory provides principles and foundations that contribute to the interpretation and analysis of meanings and symbols associated with individuals' identities and societies that emerge during social interaction and represent their experiences and experiences in everyday life. The current article aims to present a sociological cognitive model of identity theory, by presenting the theoretical roots of identity theory derived from symbolic interaction, discussing the most important principles and foundations of theory, reviewing its concepts, and concluding with a set of conclusions from the theory discussion. The findings found that identity theory contributes to understanding, interpreting and analysing the meanings and symbols of individuals' changing experiences and experiences in contemporary society. in relation to social roles, behaviours and structures within social institutions. The findings also found that identity theory allows the concept of identity to move from the abstract definition to criteria and determinants that allow identification and classification as a methodological variable.
