This study on the role of Facebook in political change in Libya: a comparative field study of the public and the communicator Community and sample of the study: The population of this study was determined in the journalists working in the General Press Authority in Libya and their large number in the headquarters in Tripoli and in the branches of municipalities and the limits of the current study were limited to interviewing or surveying Libyan journalists working in newspapers in the General Press Authority in Tripoli, which is Al-Sabah newspaper, February newspaper, and some other press supplements and appendices, in the period between 2014 to 2021 AD, and knowing their opinions and their political orientations towards political change in Libya. It .should be noted that the distribution of the questionnaire was based on what is known as the available sample. It should be noted that the questionnaire was distributed based on what is known as the available sample and the simple random sample for several reasons, including: the absence of most workers from their work due to the Corona pandemic, as well as their work in a rotational manner, and due to the lack of time, the method of the two samples referred to previously will be relied on, and the number of those who were interrogated reached (22) journalists. This study was limited to identifying the role of Facebook in political change in Libya through reports, news and information transmitted by Facebook about the protests during 2014 and beyond through a field study that requires communicators to read the indicators of these reports, news and information on the Libyan journalists targeted by the study and know their opinions and analyze them scientifically in a way that can .determine the causes of the protests in Libya and Facebook's political role in them: The most important results revolved around the following: The number of males was 68% compared to females at 32%. The majority of the study sample were workers in the newspapers under study with very long years of experience. Most of the study sample was from the February newspaper. Facebook united the protesting Libyan masses and mobilized them towards change and turned them into pressure groups. Facebook also played a role in facilitating communication between protesters during protests in Libya. Facebook has influenced local, Arab, regional and international public opinion, and the news and information on Facebook are more diverse, fast, exciting, attractive and competitive than traditional media. Facebook also contributed to prolonging the transmission of the spark of protests in Libya. Facebook also played a role in achieving social solidarity among Libyan protesters and changing the pattern of political communication between them.
