520 |b  The environmental quality is influenced by several issues; among them are Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the form of Mobile penetration and Internet usage, globalization measured through openness to trade, Electricity Generation, and Economic Growth. This research mainly aims to quantify the impact of these five indicators on the environmental quality considered in the Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in thirty selected countries; variables figures cover the period from 2000 to 2020. The employed statistical tools: Stata was adopted to analyze the corresponding collected figures. Various tests were employed; a cross-section dependence and panel: (unit root, cointegration, VAR) and Panel Impulse Response function Analysis (IRF). The findings demonstrated that environmental degradation was considerably influenced by electricity generation, economic expansion, and internet use. In terms of environmental quality, as evaluated by CO2 emissions, all three variables are inelastic, which means that a 1% rise in any of them leads to a less than 1% increase in CO2 emissions. Yet, openness to trade has a detrimental effect on environmental degradation, which indicates that as trade is opened up more, environmental degradation would likely slow down. However, mobile penetration has a negligible impact on environmental pollution in these low-middle-income countries suggesting that mobile phone use is not yet a significant factor in these nations' environmental impact.
