المستخلص: This study aims to identify the role of new media platforms in raising awareness of health issues of university youth. the researcher used the survey descriptive approach to achieve this objective. she also used the questionnaire as a tool for gathering data. the study community consisted of 200 male and female students. the study concluded a group of results, notable among these are: most students always get enough following three media platforms of the new media platform, regarding health awareness, i.e. twitter, you tube and instagram. results showed that the new media platforms contributed in raising awareness of the university youth, through guiding them to methods of dealing with the virus in its different stages and to increase their health culture about all information relating to the virus. results showed that the show method preferred by 46.5% of the total study sample and to which they interact, regarding health issues of covid-19, through the new media platforms, are health information images and drawings (infographic). results showed that the study sample individuals responded to “motives behind depending the university youth on new media plat-forms, regarding health issues. results showed that the most significant motives are (to provide them with new health information about covid-19, and to correct and confirm the information and the protective health behavior with all updates from a reliable source. results showed that the study sample individuals responded with “agree” to the knowledge and behavioral effects resulting from depending on new media platforms by the university youth regarding health is-sues. results revealed that the study sample individuals responded “nor agree nor disagree” to moral effects.
