The present paper investigates the factors contributing to students’ hesitancy in utilising university libraries, emphasising the significance of user-centred design in mitigating these obstacles. The findings of the study unveiled a complex and multifaceted terrain of library utilisation patterns, characterised by a significant range of agreement and discordance among participants. Many students expressed satisfaction with specific components of the library, such as its physical facilities and the support provided by library personnel. However, a significant number of them also expressed concerns. The complaints expressed by users comprised several concerns about the availability of resources, the convenience of accessing them, the level of awareness regarding available services, and the usage of electronic resources. The present research study offers valuable perspectives on how higher education institutions might enhance library services and foster student participation, focusing on strategies to enhance library usage and involvement among students and exploring methods for rendering the library a more pertinent and valuable resource within the contemporary digital information landscape.
