المستخلص: Key performance indicators are management and decision-making tools used to summarise the data of a company, thus indicating its effectiveness and efficiency. The importance of the latter two concepts and the competitive environment in the shipping has motivated the managers in this sector to implement a system of key performance indicators that can be used to assess the financial health of companies operating in this industry. The objective of this study is therefore to demonstrate the process that leads from an adequate strategic diagnosis to the choice of a set of performance indicators that allow the targeting of the discrepancies recorded during each financial year. The results thus obtained are visualised through a strategic steering dashboard, in order to improve decision-making and implement corrective action plans.

Les indicateurs clés de performance sont des instruments de management et d’aide à la décision utilisés pour la synthèse des données d’efficacité et d’efficience d’une entreprise. Sensibles à l’importance de ces deux dernières notions et de l’environnement concurrentiel qui règne sur le transport maritime, les managers sont motivés à implémenter un système d’indicateurs clés de performance, afin d’avoir une vision pertinente sur la santé financière des entreprises activant dans cette industrie. L’objectif de cette étude consiste à démontrer le processus de diagnostic qui conduit au choix d’un ensemble d’indicateurs de performance permettant de contrôler les résultats enregistrés chaque exercice annuel. Les résultats ainsi obtenus sont visualisés à travers un tableau de bord de pilotage, facilitant ainsi la prise de décision et la mise en œuvre de plans d’actions correctifs.
