|b Il Pastor fido is a pastoral drama by Battista GUARINI, a poet from Ferrara who undertook to emulate Torquato Tasso's Aminta by reinterpreting the relationship established between Arcadia and the Court. Guarini, despite his awareness of the evident contrast between the classical world (model of happy and innocent humanity) and the present one (the Court), projects court life through extremely noble and sensual players. The Mannerist writer consciously idealized the courtly world on a literary, theatrical and spectacular level, thus revealing an exquisite refinement with explicitly laudatory purposes.
|d Il Pastor fido è un dramma pastorale di Battista GUARINI, un poeta ferrarese che si impegnò a emulare l’Aminta di Torquato Tasso reinterpretando il rapporto istituito fra Arcadia e Corte. Il Guarini, nonostante la sua coscienza del contrasto evidente tra il mondo classico (modello dell’umanità felice e innocente) e quello presente cioè cortigiano, proietta la vita di corte mediante personaggi massimamente nobili e sensuali. Lo scittore manierista idealizza consapevolmente il mondo cortigiano sul livello letterario, teatrale e spettacolare rivelando, così, una squisita raffinatezza con finalità esplicitamente encomiastiche.
