المستخلص: The subject of academic competence in marriage is of utmost importance in life and family organization. It is the right of a woman and her guardian that her husband is competent for her, not inferior to her in status, as he will be the head of the household, responsible for her care. As societal norms evolve with time and place, academic achievement, cultural refinement, and intellectual advancement have become crucial qualities of competence when discussing marital compatibility in our present time, especially if the woman holds high academic degrees and prestigious positions. The scientific competence in marriage is a topic that has not received much attention, focus, or research from jurists of Sharia and Arab legislators compared to other qualities considered in marital competence.
