المستخلص: Algeria abounds a diverse cultural heritage, which has refined its national identity, reflecting the individual’s cultural level of singing, drawing, building and weaving. Weaving has been known in North Africa since ancient times through the mattresses and pieces of fabric found in the tombs of the Pharaohs, in addition to the collection of drawings and inscriptions found in Tassili (Le ministére de l'agriculture et de la réforme agraire, 1975, p. 27) Babar weaving, which represents a material heritage and an imprint of an individual’s cultural identity, symbolizes the ancientness of this region and the extent of its connection to its authenticity and cultural extension. It has maintained its position with its distinctive types, shapes, symbols and colors. The craftsmen seek to preserve this cultural heritage and pass on the craft to future generations. The article is titled: Stages of preparing wool for weaving In this article, we defined some terms related to the subject. We highlighted the sequential stages of wool preparation, in addition to the methods used in each stage, along with the methods of using them and the differences between them. At the end of the article, we pointed out the types of fabric found in the region and the difference between them in terms of weaving method, color, and dimensions.
