المستخلص: The job of implementing what was stated in Article Fifteen of the Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate System, which was issued in 9 June of the year 1861, which stipulated the formation of a force to maintain security and assist its administrator in implementing the laws. The thinking of the administrator Daoud Pasha, who saw that his rule could not be established and his decisions implemented except by forming an armed force to help him implement his orders. However, the problem he faced was how to organize and train it and who to rely on. Especially since Mount Lebanon was going through a stage of internal conflict, represented by its sects, and external conflict, represented by the conflict between the major powers to consolidate their influence there. Nevertheless, Daoud Pasha’s cunning, political culture and knowledge of the course of affairs. It made him influence France over other European countries to organize his power, and for this reason, he asked the French government. Through its Consul General in Beirut, to send a French military mission to train and organize the Lebanese police force, provided that France found that implementing what Daoud Pasha requested was nothing but a service to its interests in Mount Lebanon. Furthermore, in honor of Al-Waglouf for the neglect of the French military mission and its role in the organization of the Lebanese police. The elucidation of the research ((The French military mission and its role in the organization of the Lebanese police) 1865-1863)) is to concentrate on the role played by that mission and the paths it followed in the organization. Moreover, considering that the mission had begun its work with knowledge 1863 and the mission of Captain Van, ended with his return to France in 1865.
