يلعب التحديد الإداري دورا مهما في حماية الوعاء العقاري، باعتباره آلية لتحصين العقار، تسلكه مجموعة من الجهات نظرا لما يوفره من ضمانات، ومن بين هذه الجهات الجماعات السلالية، حيث إن المشرع المغربي منحلهذه الأخيرة الخيار بين سلوك مسطرة التحفيظ العامة المقررة في ظهير 1913 المعدل والمتمم بالقانون رقم 14.07، أو سلوك مسطرة التحديد الإداري المنظمة بمقتضى القانون رقم 63.17، إلا أنه رغم هذا الخيار فإن الإدارة الوصية على العقار السلالي غالبا ما تفضل مسطرة التحديد الإداري خصوصا عندما تكون مساحة العقار مساحة شاسعة نظرا للضمانات التي تتمتع بها في ظل هذه المسطرة بخلاف المتعرضين الذين يفرض عليهم القانون رقم 63.17 مجموعة من القيود لصحة تعرضهم، إذ لا يكفيهم ممارسة التعرض داخل الأجل المحدد وأمام الجهات المختصة، بل يجب عليهم تحت طائلة إلغاء تعرضهم، استتباعه بتقديم مطلب التحفيظ تأكيدي أمام المحافظة العقارية، الأمر الذي يجعلهم أمام وضعية ضعيفة تجاه الإدارة صاحبة التحديد الإداري.
