|a تناولت الدراسة التصور المقترح لتطوير التعليم الجامعي في ضوء التنمية المستدامة، وهدفت الدراسة التعرف على الإطار الفكري والفلسفي للتنمية المستدامة، ماهيتها بما يتضمن (المفهوم، الأهداف، والأهمية) وكذلك المعايير المعتمدة لتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة في التعليم الجامعي، التحديات التي تواجه التعليم الجامعي من أجل تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، كما استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي الذي يتناسب مع طبيعة ونوعية الدراسة، كما توصلت الدراسة إلى بعث القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية إلى الجامعات المتطورة عالميا للاستفادة وننقل الخبرات الناجحة في هذا المجال وتعزيز المؤهلات والاستفادة من الاستراتيجيات التنفيذية التي يستخدمونها في توظيف الأفكار واستثمارها، وتركيز الجامعات على بناء الطالب علميا ورياديا وذلك من خلال طرق التدريس التي تدعم استثمار الأبحاث والأفكار والمخترعات لتمكين الجامعات من أن تسهم في التنافسية العالمية.
