المستخلص: تناول البحث أقوال الإمام أبي عمرو الأوزاعي في الرواة جرحاً وتعديلاً، بهدف الوقوف على أقواله النقدية، والوقوف على الألفاظ والمصطلحات التي استخدمها ومقارنتها بأقوال النقاد؛ لبيان منهجه في جرح الرواة وتعديلهم، وبيان منزلته النقدية بين علماء الجرح والتعديل وتسليط الضوء على الإمام الأوزاعي بصفته من كبار المحدثين ونقل أقوال العلماء التي تبين لنا مكانته العلمية وتزكيتهم له، وإبراز جانب من جوانب مدرسة الشام في نقد الحديث. وخلص البحث إلى نتائج عديدة، من أبرزها: الإمام الأوزاعي محدث فقيه وإمام ناقد اعتمد العلماء أقواله في الجرح والتعديل، فبلغ عدد الرواة الذين تكلم فيهم جرحاً وتعديلاً (٢٤) راوٍ، عدل منهم (۱۸) راوٍ وأغلبهم من شيوخه أو تلاميذه، وله ألفاظ خاصة في التعديل وقد قلده العلماء في بعضها، وتكلم في (٦) رواة، وقد توافق كلامه مع كلام الأئمة في أغلبها. وظهر من خلال نقده أنه ليس بالمتشدد ولا المتساهل بل من المعتدلين في الجرح والتعديل وألفاظه سهلة وميسورة ومشهورة.

The research dealt with the sayings of Imam Abu Ammr al-Awza’i in terms of accredited and discredited narrators that aim to identify his critical statements, identify the words and terms he used, and compare them with the statements of critics to explain his approach for authenticating and discrediting the narrators, and to clarify his critical status among accredited and discredited narrators to shed light on Imam al-Awza’i as one of the major scholars, and to convey the sayings of scholars that show us his scientific standing and their endorsement of him, and also to highlight an aspect of the Levant school in the criticism of hadith. The research concluded several results, the most important of which are: Imam al-Awza’i is a modernist, jurist, imam and critic, and the scholars relied on his sayings in terms of accredited and discredited narrators. Hence, the number of narrators whom he spoke of accredited and discredited reached (24) narrators, (18) narrators were accredited by him, and most of them were from his Sheikhs or students, and he has special words in the accreditation and the scholars imitated him in some, and he spoke in (6) narrators. His sayings matched most of other imams' sayings. It also appeared through his criticism that he is neither hard-line nor lenient; rather he is one of the moderates in authenticating and discrediting the narrators. He also used easy, accessible, and famous expressions.
