المستخلص: الفلسفة العربية الإسلامية لها مكانتها المميزة في تاريخ الفلسفة العالمية، ولا يمكن إهمال دور الفلاسفة المسلمين في بناء صرح الفلسفة، ناهيك عن دور العلماء المسلمين، في ميدان العلوم وكلا الميدانيين يصبان في مسيرة المعرفة البشرية، والتي لا ترتبط بعرق دون آخر، فهي عالمية بكل معنى الكلمة. أعطى الكندي للفلسفة قيمة عالية، وأكد على ضرورة الأخذ بها، في رسالة وجهها إلى الخليفة العباسي المعتصم بالله، يقول الكندي "أن أعلى الصناعات الإنسانية منزلة، وأشرفها مرتبة صناعة الفلسفة التي حدها: علم الأشياء بدقائقها بقدر طاقة الإنسان، لأن غرض الفيلسوف في علمه إصابة الحق، وفي عمله العمل بالحق. فما دامت الفلسفة إذن تصبو نحو الحقيقة فهي- أي الفلسفة- أرفع شأنا مما سواها من العلوم، هذا ما يقرره الكندي. بحث الكندي وعالج مواضيع فلسفية كثيرة، إلا أن البحث في النفس يعد من أهم هذه المباحث، وذلك لأن الخوض في موضوع النفس احتل مكانة مهمة لدى الفلاسفة الإغريق وكذلك لدى المتكلمين، هذا من جهة أولى، أما من الجهة الثانية فإن البحث في النفس وفي ذلك العصر تحديدا يعد أمرا صعبا وخطيرا لارتباطه بصلب العقيدة الدينية، كما أن الكلام في النفس يقتضي علما واسعا بفروع المعرفة البشرية.

Arab-Islamic philosophy has its distinctive place in the history of global philosophy, and the role of Muslim philosophers in building the edifice of philosophy cannot be neglected, not to mention the role of Muslim scholars, in the field of science. Both fields contribute to the path of human knowledge, which is not linked to one race or another, as it is universal in every sense. Word. Al-Kindi gave philosophy a high value, and stressed the necessity of adopting it. In a letter addressed to the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mu'tasim Billah, Al-Kindi says, "The highest status of human industries, and the most honorable of them, is the rank of the industry of philosophy, the definition of which is: the knowledge of things in their details to the extent of a person's ability, because the philosopher's goal in his knowledge is to achieve... The truth, and in its work is the work of the truth, so as long as philosophy aspires towards the truth, it- that is, philosophy- is higher in status than any other science, this is what Al-Kindi affirms. Al-Kindi researched and dealt with many philosophical topics, but research into the soul is considered one of the most important of these topics, because delving into the subject of the soul occupied an important place among Greek philosophers as well as among theologians. This is on the first hand, but on the second hand, research on the soul and in that era Specifically, it is considered a difficult and dangerous matter because it is linked to the core of religious belief, and talking to oneself requires extensive knowledge of the branches of human knowledge.
