يتناول هذا البحث دراسة تحليلية متعمقة لأداء نموذج الذكاء الاصطناعي ChatGPT في ترجمة التعبيرات الاصطلاحية بين اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، مع التركيز على تحقيق التكافؤ وفقًا لمفهومه عند نايدا وبيكر. تم تحليل ۱۰۰ تعبير اصطلاحي لتقييم دقة نقل المعاني المجازية والثقافية بين اللغتين. يتناول البحث عدة محاور أساسية، تبدأ بالمقدمة التي تعرض الدراسات السابقة والأسئلة البحثية ومنهج الدراسة. يعرّف الإطار النظري بالتعبير الاصطلاحي وأقسامه في العربية والإنجليزية، ثم يقدم تعريفاً بالترجمة الآلية ونظمها، إضافة إلى التعريف بنموذج الذكاء الاصطناعي ChatGPT واستعمالاته. كما يناقش مفهوم التكافؤ عند نايدا وبيكر لتقييم دقة الترجمة من الناحية اللغوية والثقافية. يتضمن البحث بعد ذلك تحليلا للتعبيرات الاصطلاحية العربية، مثل "ضيق ذات اليد" و "على شفا حفرة"، وتقييم مدى نجاح الترجمة في نقل المعاني الرمزية. يتم تحليل التعبيرات الإنجليزية مثل "Bite the bullet" و"Break the ice" باستخدام نفس المنهج، مع دراسة فعالية الترجمة في نقل التأثير الثقافي. تُختتم الدراسة بمناقشة شاملة للنتائج والتوصيات لتحسين نظم الترجمة الآلية، إضافة إلى تلخيص النتائج الرئيسية في الخاتمة والتأكيد على أهمية البحث المستقبلي لتعزيز كفاءة الترجمة. أظهرت النتائج أن النموذج يتمتع بكفاءة عالية في ترجمة التعبيرات ذات المعاني الواضحة، لكنه يواجه تحديات في ترجمة التعابير ذات الدلالات الثقافية والتاريخية العميقة. يوصى بتطوير الخوارزميات لتعزيز قدرة الذكاء الاصطناعي على معالجة التعابير المجازية المعقدة، مع الدعوة لإجراء مزيد من الأبحاث لتحسين فعالية الترجمة الآلية.
This research presents an in-depth analytical study of the performance of the artificial intelligence model ChatGPT in translating idiomatic expressions between Arabic and English, with a focus on achieving equivalence based on Nida and Baker's concepts. A total of 100 idiomatic expressions were analyzed to evaluate the accuracy of conveying figurative and cultural meanings between the two languages. The study covers several core sections, beginning with an introduction that reviews previous research, research questions, and methodology. The theoretical framework defines idiomatic expressions and their categories in both Arabic and English, followed by a discussion on machine translation systems and an introduction to the ChatGPT model and its applications. Additionally, the research examines Nida and Baker's equivalence theories to assess translation accuracy from linguistic and cultural perspectives. The study then analyzes Arabic idioms such as evaluating the success of "على شفا حفرة" and "ضيق ذات اليد" translations in conveying symbolic meanings. Similarly, English idioms like "Bite the bullet" and "Break the ice" are analyzed using the same approach, studying the effectiveness of translation in transmitting cultural impact. The study concludes with a comprehensive discussion of the findings and recommendations for improving machine translation systems, highlighting key results in the conclusion and emphasizing the importance of future research to enhance translation efficiency. The results showed that the model is highly proficient in translating expressions with clear meanings but faces challenges in translating expressions with deep cultural and historical connotations. It is recommended to develop algorithms to improve Al's ability to handle complex figurative expressions, with a call for further research to enhance machine translation effectiveness.
