المستخلص: Arabic studies concerning the obsolete are predominantly reliant on ancient dictionaries, since the corpus is restricted to the pre-Islamic era. The period spanning from the third century of the Hijra to the present has been overlooked due to the absence of relevant corpus of material. Will this situation change with the advent of the historical dictionary of the Arabic language?

Les études arabes qui portent sur la désuétude restent prisonnières des dictionnaires anciens. En conséquence, leurs données sont presque exclusivement de l’époque préislamique. Le reste de l’histoire est passé sous silence en raison de l’absence de corpus. La situation va-t-elle changer avec le dictionnaire historique?
