|a يحتاج الإنسان في حياته سواء كان صغيراً أم كبيراً إلى محطات يخرج فيها من نسق حياته الممل، وهذه المحطات هي وقفات مع النفس فيها ترويح عنها، بأشكال متعددة ووسائل متنوعة، تناسب كل المستويات العمرية، فقد راجت في بلاد ما وراء النهر العديد من الوسائل التي اتخذها الناس للتسلية والترويح عن النفس، وكان مجتمع بلاد ما وراء النهر لهم عاداتهم وتقاليدهم الخاصة في المناسبات المختلفة وكان لهم وسائل تسلية واحتفالات متعددة مثل احتفالات قدوم شهر رمضان واحتفالات الأعياد الإسلامية والاحتفالات الخاصة كالزواج والختان والاحتفالات بالأعياد القومية وكان لهم وسائل في التسلية الترفيه عن أنفسهم.
