|a وردت في مجموعة من النقوش العربية الجنوبية القديمة المدونة بخط المسند علاوة على أحد النقوش المكتوبة بخط الزبور، عبارة "قينن إله خسأم"، وأحيانا "إله خسأم" فقط دون التصريح المباشر بذكر الاسم "قينن". ويهدف هذا البحث إلى حصر هذه النقوش وتحليلها، باعتبارها المصدر الوحيد الذي ذكر فيه هذا المعبود، في محاولة تحديد معنى اسمه والمنزلة التي وصل إليها في الديانة اليمنية القديمة، وبيان أهم السمات والصفات الخاصة به، إلى جانب التعرف على أهم المعبودات التي اقترن ذكره بها، علاوة على المنشآت الدينية أو أجزائها المعمارية المكرسة له، والطقوس التي كانت تؤدى إليه. يضاف إلى هذا وذاك تتبع مواطن إقامة وانتشار الأسر والشعوب أو القبائل التي تعبدت إليه وعلى رأسها خسأم.
|b This paper investigates the identity of “Qaynān, the deity of Ḫasa'um” through ancient South Arabian inscriptions, as they are the only source in which this pre-Islamic god is mentioned. The paper also discusses and attempts to determine the meaning of the name and the status of the deity "Qaynān" in ancient Yemeni religion, explaining his most prominent features and characteristics. Additionally, the research identifies other deities associated with him, traces the religious buildings dedicated to him, and examines the rituals performed in his virtue. Furthermore, the paper identifies the peoples, families, and tribes that worshipped Qaynān, particularly the tribe of Ḫasa'um.
