تعد الأمراض النفسية والعقلية في وقتنا الحاضر الأكثر شيوعا حيث بلغت الإحصائيات إلى أن هناك أكثر من (٥٠٠) مليون شخص يعاني من احد أنواع الاضطراب النفسي، وإن حجم المشكلات النفسية يتجاوز حجم الإمكانات المتاحة لعلاجها مما يؤدي إلى إعطاء صورة غير واضحة لقلة الوعي بحجم وطبيعة هذه الاضطرابات النفسية والعقلية وعدم توافر وسائل الوقاية والعلاج أدى إلى زيادة نسب انتشار الاضطرابات النفسية والعقلية في مجتمعاتنا، لذا لابد من ضرورة القيام بدراسات من اجل زيادة معرفتنا بحجم وطبيعة هذه المشكلات، لذا ارتأت الباحثة من ملاحظاتها إلى أن المجتمع العراقي وخاصة بعد أحداث ٢٠٠٣ يعاني من مشكلة كيفية التعامل الصحيح حيث تتسم العلاقات في المجتمع بطابع تتفاعل فيه وهذا ما يتطلب منهم تعديلا في أساليبهم بالإضافة إلى وجود مشكلات في حياة المواطن العراقي تؤثر سلبا على تصرفاته وتفاعله الاجتماعي مع الآخرين وقد تؤدي به إلى سوء التوافق النفسي والاجتماعي لذلك فمن الضروري أن يكون قادرا على التعرف على مشكلاته وعدم التشاؤم نحوها ومن ثم الوصول إلى تحقيق أهدافه في النجاح والتقدم. وهدف البحث الحالي التعرف إلى: ١- الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى الشخصية النرجسية. ٢-كيفية التشخيص. ٣-الوقاية منها. ٤-العلاج. وتحدد البحث الحالي بالأدبيات والدراسات السابقة ضمن المنظور المعرفي والتي تتناول موضوع هذا البحث. ووضعت الباحثة عددا من التعريفات الخاصة بالشخصية النرجسية، ومن ثم استعرضت الأطر النظرية النفسية التي فسرت الشخصية النرجسية، وعرضت عددا من الدراسات السابقة العربية والأجنبية التي تناولت الشخصية النرجسية وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات ومن ثم مناقشة هذه الدراسات وأخيرا الفصل الرابع ويتضمن هذا الفصل استعراضا لما وضع من أهداف البحث في ضوء الأدبيات السابقة وصولا إلى الاستنتاجات والتوصيات.

The objective of the present research is to identify: 1- The reasons that lead to narcissistic personality. 2. How to Diagnose. 3. Prevention. 4. Treatment. The current research defines the literature and previous studies within the cognitive perspective that deals with the subject of this research. The researcher presented a number of definitions of the narcissistic personality, and then reviewed the theoretical psychological frameworks that explained the narcissistic personality, and presented a number of previous Arab and foreign studies that dealt with narcissistic personality and its relation to some variables, and then discuss these studies and finally chapter four. From research objectives in the light of previous literature to conclusions and recommendations.
