Writing a dissertation is a crucial component of master's programs. However, EFL master's students often face various challenges during the dissertation writing process. This study aimed to investigate the difficulties encountered by EFL master's students in writing their dissertations. A quantitative research approach was adopted, and a questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. The sample for this study consisted of 94 EFL master's students, selected using a convenience sampling technique. The questionnaire assessed the students' perceptions of the difficulties they faced in various aspects of the dissertation writing process. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The findings revealed that EFL master's students encountered significant challenges in several areas of dissertation.
