المستخلص: يتناول البحث سيرة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والخلفاء الراشدون من خلال كتاب " محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وخلفاؤه" للمستشرق واشنطن إيرفينغ، وأهم فصوله: دراسة حول كتاب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وخلفاؤه، ومنهج ومصادر المؤلف، وبعض آراء المترجمين فيه، وآراء إيرفينج فيما قبل مولد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم آراء إيرفينج في سيرة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من مولده إلى ما قبل بعثته صلى الله عليه وسلم، السيرة النبوية في كتاب إيرفينج من البعثة إلى الهجرة إلى المدينة، آراء إيرفينج المتعلقة بالسيرة النبوية بعد هجرة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، آراء إيرفينج بزوجات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وبناته وعلاقته بهن وبغيرهن من النساء عموما، آراء إيرفينج المتعلقة بالخلفاء الراشدين الا، مع ذكر المميزات والمآخذ على الكتاب في هذا الباب، ومن نتائج البحث: تنوع أساليب أعداء الإسلام من المستشرقين وغيرهم في التشكيك بالشريعة الإسلامية لاسيما مصدرها الثاني السنة النبوية. وقوف الكثير من المسلمين على مر التاريخ للتصدي لمزاعم المستشرقين وغيرهم من المشككين. لابد عند مخاطبة المشككين الاستناد على الحقائق التاريخية والمراجع الأصيلة. المستشرقين مهما حاولوا تصنع المصداقية والإنصاف والموضوعية إلا انه لا يستطيعون أن يتخلصوا من العقد الاستشراقية والتي تتمثل في العداء للإسلام والمسلمين. تشابه منهج المستشرقين وتركيزهم على إثارة نفس الشبهات غالبا.

He discussed the biography of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs through the book “Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Caliphs” by the orientalist Washington Irving, and its most important chapters: a study of the book Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Rightly Guided Caliphs, the approach and sources of the author, some of the opinions of its translators, and Irving’s views regarding the birth of the Prophet, R. Irving, in his biography. Mentioning the features and keys found in the book in this section, and among the research results :The diversity of methods of the enemies of Islam, including Orientalists and others, in questioning Islamic law, especially its second source, the Sunnah of the Prophet. Many Muslims throughout history have stood up to confront the claims of Orientalists and other skeptics. When addressing skeptics, one must rely on historical facts and authentic references. Orientalists, no matter how much they try to create credibility, fairness, and objectivity, cannot get rid of the Orientalist complex, which is represented by hostility toward Islam and Muslims. The similarity of the approach of the Orientalists and their focus on often raising the same suspicions.
