This field study aims to identify forms of symbolic violence directed against elders (parents and grandparents) through the dimensions of marginalization and belittlement, despite the social status enjoyed by this group in light of the social perceptions among a sample of high school students. This necessitates shedding light on the phenomenon, as well as revealing the factors that contribute to this type of violence. The study found that marginalization ranked first among these factors, while the relational aspect occupied the top position as one of the leading causes of symbolic violence against elders. |
