هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل وتشخيص تحديات استدامة القطاع الغابي في السودان والمتمثلة في المحاور الثمانية التالية وهي (الطبيعية- البيئية- الفنية- المؤسسية- القانونية- الاقتصادية- الاجتماعية- الثقافية) ولكل محور من تلك المحاور تفاصيله الدقيقة واستخدمت الدراسة عدة مناهج وآليات كما هو متفق ومتعارف عليه في الدراسات العالمية مثل أسلوب دلفي ومنهج المنظومة الجغرافية والمنهج الإقليمي والمنهج السبي- التأثيري واعتمدت الدراسة في جمع المعلومات علي المصادر الأولية المتمثلة في الاستبيان الذي أعد لغرض الدراسة والمقابلات الشخصية (الرسمية وغير الرسمية) بالإضافة إلى الملاحظة المباشرة كما تمت الاستعانة بالمصادر الثانوية وهي كل ما هو له صلة بذات الدراسة وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج مفادها أن القطاع الغابي في السودان يعاني من عدة تحديات وهي متداخلة ومتصلة مع بعضها البعض ويصعب فصلها وهي تبدو كحلقة دائرية مما أثرت على نمط استدامتها والتي تبدو مؤشراته في التغيرات المناخية وتكرار نوبات الجفاف والاستخدام الشرس من الإنسان من خلال أنشطته الاقتصادية والتعديات على المنظومات الغابية في السودان كما أوصت الدراسة بعدد من المقترحات الآنية والمستقبلية منها لا بد من تصحيح الأخطاء المفاهيمية حول الموارد الغابية وعمل آليات تنسقية تجمع أصحاب المصلحة وهم الحكومة والأهالي وتطبيق استراتيجية المراجعة القائمة على أساس المخاطر لمراجعة إدارة الغابات وتطبيق مفهوم الجودة الشاملة بكل المراحل وفي كل مرافق الموارد الغابية وذلك باستدامتها في ظل الظروف الحرجة هذه.
The study aimed to analyze and diagnose these challenges.
