|a التصحر ليس بالظاهرة الحديثة والجديدة على الإنسان، ولا يصيبنا العجب من ذلك فقد عرف لو كوكبنا الأرض لظاهرة منذ آلاف السنين بتعاقب العصور الجافة، بعد العصور المطيرة لكن خطورة هذه الظاهرة تفاقمت وتعاظمت في العصور الحديثة خصوص بعد الثورة الصناعية وتطور المستوى الصحي وقلة الوفيات وارتفاع نسبة الزيادة الطبيعية في كل دول العالم، والحال نفسه ينطبق على دول حوض النيل وزادت حدة وخطورة مشكلة التصحر بعد أن تطورت تقنيات الاتصالات وأصبحت هذه المشكلة مصدر قلق المنظمات الدولية وعلى رأسها الأمم المتحدة فالانفجار السكاني تقابله تناقص في المساحات المزروعة وأصبح الإنتاج الغذائي لا يسد حاجات السكان وبات من الضرورة مواجهة خطر التصحر ومواجهة قلة المياه والتوسع الزراعي وما ارتبط بها من نشاطات زراعية واستخدام نظم ري حديثة تقلل الحاجة إلى المياه وليس بعيدا عنا المآسي وحالات الجفاف التي اجتاحت بعض دول حوض النيل وهلاك الثروات لحيوانية وقتل آلاف من البشر نتيجة الجفاف وهذا ما سنتطرق إليه في البحث ومناقشة بعض التجارب وحالات التصحر حول حوض النيل واختتم البحث بمجموعة من الاستنتاجات والتوصيات وأخيرا تقبلوا فائق شكري وتقديري عسى أن ينال بحثى المتواضع الرضا القبول..
