يعنى هذا البحث باستعراض دور علامات ما بعد الخطاب النصي في البناء والتحصيل المعرفي من خلال التفاعل الإلكتروني التعاوني في بيئة إلكترونية متعددة الثقافات. يقدم هذا البحث عرضاً مبسطاً لتوظيف علامات ما بعد الخطاب المدرجة في النص الإلكتروني التفاعلي. هذا، ويستعرض البحث كيف وظف الطلاب المشاركون في مشروع التعلم الإلكتروني عن بعد في الكتابة التعاونية لعلامات ما بعد الخطاب النصي في المقالات والمواضيع الثقافية أثناء دراستهم لمادة الكتابة المتقدمة في تخصص اللغة الإنجليزية؛ لذلك يقدم هذا البحث تفسيرات وتحليلات لأهمية دور تفعيل علامات ما بعد الخطاب النصي الإلكتروني في الحوار الثقافي، والتبادل المعرفي في التعلم الإلكتروني عن بعد. كما أن هذا البحث يقدم نموذجاً لأهمية دور التعلم الإلكتروني التعاوني، وتحديداً للطلاب العرب من خلال ربطهم بالثقافات الخارجية، وإعطائهم الفرص في التبادل الحواري الثقافي.
This article seeks to explore the role of metadiscourse markers in the construction and attainment of interactive and collaborative writing in a cross-cultural setting. It presents a review of the metadiscourse incorporated in the shared online text. It details how students from Saudi Arabian, Egyptian and Americans universities who shared their writing in the Online Writing Collaboration Project (OWCp) implement metadiscourse markers to communicate and interact about their cultural topics and other shared texts while studying advanced English writing in the online collaborative learning setting. Consequently, this study aims to identify which metadiscourse categories predominate in participants' writings and how they help students to organize and enhance the level of collaboration and interaction to bridge communication gab and to increase cultural understanding and promote peace though authentic dialogues between Arabs and Americans. It demonstrates how Arab students and American peers use various metadiscourse in their online writing. It also explains how the online writing collaboration project interface is designed to support: textual metadiscourse, visual metadiscourse, metacommunicational, and intellectual interaction in general. Various examples of how students incorporated metadiscourse markers in their collaborative writing are provided.
