انتهج الباحث منهج تحليلي مدعوم بتطبيقات عمليه للحصول على النتائج المطلوبة، لإنتاج دبس التمر، مع عدم تجاهل الجانب الاقتصادي إذا ما تطلب الأمر إيمانا منه بالحاجة الملحة إلى تبني الأفكار العلمية وترجمتها إلى واقع عملي ملموس. والتقييم الاقتصادي للمشروع الاستثماري يهدف إلى منح المستثمر حرية الاختيار بين الفرص المتاحة وفق أسس ومعايير علمية تضمن له تجاوز حالة الغموض والضبابية، والقلق الذي يراود تفكيره وتجعله كثر اطمئنانا وقادرا على تبني منهج علمي اقتصادي مدروس، وتوضيح الرؤيا أمامه، ليكون أكثر واقعيه في اتخاذ القرار المناسب والسليم للوصول إلى أفضل البدائل التي تدني التكاليف إلى اقل ما يمكن وبما يؤمن أفضل مردود اقتصادي من المشروع المنوي استثماره. وان تحليل الاستثمار المرتقب وفق التدفقات المالية الداخلة والخارجة، المتوقعة خلال العمر الافتراضي للمشروع بات أمرا مهما لاتخاذ القرار السليم عند اختيار الفرصة الاستثمارية وتحديد التدفقات الأعلى كفاءة وأكثر ربحية. ومن هنا جاءت هذه الدراسة الموسومة دراسة تطبيقية افتراضية لتقييم الجدوى الاقتصادية لمشروع صناعة دبس التمر في قضاء هيت وبطاقة إنتاجية هي (4) طن دبس في اليوم الواحد. لتسلط الضوء على طبيعة الاستثمار في مثل هذه المشروعات بغية تشجيع المستثمرين للاستثمار في هذا المجال لما له من أهمية اقتصادية في حياة المواطن الفرد لغرض تأمين الغذاء لإفراد الشعب بالأسعار المناسبة ولسد النقص الحاصل في إنتاج هذه المادة الغذائية التي يعول الآن على استيرادها من الأسواق المجاورة. في حين أن محصول التمر الزهدي هو ينتج محليا ويصدر للبلدان المجاورة لتقوم بصناعة مادة الدبس منه وإعادة تصديرها للعراق .. حددت الدراسة المستلزمات الأساسية والتكاليف اللازمة بنوعيها الاستثمارية والتشغيلية، بالإضافة إلى الأيدي العاملة اللازمة للمشروع. وعلى ضوء ذلك تم إجراء التقييم الاقتصادي حيث بينت الدراسة أن صافي الإيرادات السنوية بلغت 527.85 مليون دينار سنويا وان نقطة التعادل تساوي 65.5 % والقيمة المضافة الإجمالية هي 595.15 والقيمة المضافة الصافية 572.85. بينت الدراسة أن عائد الدينار المستثمر في المشروع بحدود 72 %. والمدة التي يستغرقها المشروع كي يسترد تكاليفه الاستثمارية هي بحدود 16 شهر تقريبا. وأوصى الباحث بجمله من التوصيات التي يرى إنها ضرورية لتشجيع الاستثمار في هذا المجال.
