يُعد (لزوم ما لا يلزم) في الشعر العربي فنا من فنون البديع عند القدماء، وقد وصفه النقاد بأنه نوع من الإعنات الذي يلجأ إليه الشاعر للدلالة على القدرة والتوسع في القول وإظهار المهارة. وفي العصر الحديث جنح بعض الشعراء إلى هذا الفن، سيرا على طريقة من سبقهم من الأوائل، واتباعا لنهج أبي العلاء المعري الذي يعد رأسا لهذا الفن، وإيقانا من بعصهم بأهميته للقافية وزيادة العنصر الترنمي فيها. ولم تكن اللزوميات كثيرة عند شعراء العصر الحديث، ولكن نفرا منهم خصوها بعنايتهم، فأصدروا دواوين لزومية على طريقة المعري. وتبرز آثار المعري الفكرية في هذا النتاج من حيث الميل إلى التأمل وإيراد الحكم ونحو ذلك، على أنهم خرجوا عن الإطار الذي حبس المعري نفسه فيه. أما المظاهر الفنية في لزومياتهم فأبرزها ندرة القصائد الطويلة وكثرة المقطوعات، وسيطرة القافية على تشكيل الصورة، وكثرة الغريب في كلمات القوافي بخاصة. ويلفت النظر في تجربة أحد الشعراء أنه أدخل اللزوم في قصيدة التفعيلة، وهي تجربة جديرة بالنظر والتأمل، لما يلحظ من التناقض بين النمطين. إن لزوميات الشعر في العصر الحديث تعد ظاهرة من ظواهر الحنين إلى النمط العربي القديم، وإيثارا لعمود الشعر، ونوعا من الانتصار للفصحى.
(lozoom ma la yalzam ) in the Arabic poetry is considered to be one of the creative arts, for the ancients which was describes by the critics as a sort of (Al-Eanat) which the poet use to show the capability, Taking expansion and showing the skills. In the modern age some of the poets went to this art following the method of the earlier leaders and following Abou Al-Alaa Al-Maary method who was the head of this art and believing from some of them by the importance of rhyme and the increasing of the rhymic element in it. Necessities (Lozoomeyat ) were not many for the modern age poets but some of them care of it and issues Necessary (Lozoomey) poets following Al-Maari method. The intellectual Maary effects emerged in this conclusion toward liking the scruting (Taamol) and making judgment ( Irad Al- Hokm) etc, that they left out the frame which Al-Maary was prisoner in. But the most portent aspects in their necessities (Lozoomeyat) were the rarity of the long poets, the many of (Maktooal) and the yhme contol on the forming of picture and the many of (Ghareeb) specially in rhymes words. And it is obvious in one of the poets attempt that he entered (Al- Lezoom) in (Al-Tafeela ) poem which is good example for study and scruting for the obvious contradiction between the two types. The poem necessities (Lozoomeyat) in the modern age is considered to be a phenomenon of longing to the old Arabic type and preferring the poem column (Ammod Al-Shear) and a kind of victory for the standard Arabic.
