تتناول هذه الدراسة واقع الصناعات الغذائية بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة باعتبارها من الصناعات الأساسية والهامة. حيث أنها تسهم بشكل فاعل في تأمين الغذاء للإنسان، وتعمل على تحقيق أكبر قدر من الاكتفاء الذاتي من المنتجات الغذائية، كما أنها تتمتع بأهمية اقتصادية كبيرة ومن الدعائم الأساسية لتكوين البعد الاقتصادي الاستراتيجي. كما أن نمو وتطوير قطاع الصناعات الغذائية يرتبط بتنمية وتطوير القطاع الزراعي والحيواني باعتبارها المصدر الأساسي للمواد الأولية للصناعات الغذائية فضلاً عن ترابطها مع فروع صناعية مهمة مثل صناعة العبوات الورقية والبلاستيكية والزجاجية ورقائق الألمونيوم ومواد التغليف على انواعها، وكذلك قطاعات النقل والمواصلات وغيرها. وتستعرض الدراسة تطور هذه الصناعة من حيث العدد والتركيب الهيكلي للمنشآت الصناعية وحجم للعمالة بها، وحجم الاستثمار فيها ومصادر التمويل، وكذلك تصنيفها من حيث عدد العمالة ورأس المال إلى صناعات صغيرة ومتوسطة وكبيرة. وتسلط هذه الدراسة الضوء على قضية الأمن الغذائي والتي تعتبر من أهم القضايا المعاصرة، حيث تناول الدراسة تقدير استهلاك منتجات الصناعات الغذائية وتقدير الفجوة في هذا القطاع بمقارنة حجم الإنتاج والاستهلاك مع حجم الاستيراد، بهدف وضع استراتيجية لتقليص الفجوة في هذا القطاع، خاصة في ظل توجهات منظمة التجارة العالمية لتحرير السلع الزراعية والإلغاء التدريجي لإعانات الإنتاج والتصدير مما يؤدي بالدول المصدرة إلى رفع أسعار منتجاتها للدول المستوردة. وكذك بهدف وضع استراتيجية لتشجيع الاستثمار في هذا القطاع وتوسيع الطاقات الإنتاجية الحالية، وخاصة في ظل الكثافة السكانية التي تشهد نموا مضطردا.
This study deals with the facts of alimental security in the U.A.E. as its being considered as a basic and important industry whereas it contributes effectively in securing of food to humans, and works on establishing the greatest level of self sufficiency from food products, and it also hs great economic value and it is a main pillar in forming economic and strategically dimension the development and growth of food industries is closely connected, with the development and growth of agricultural and animal sector which is considered the main source for primary materials for the food industry, besides its connection to other important industrial branches like paper, plastic, and glass refills and aluminum chips and the wrapping materials of all kinds, and the transport industries. The study reviews the development of this industry in terms of numbers and structure of industrial establishments and the size of employees in it, and the amounts invested in it and its sources of finance, and categorizing it according to the employees, size in it and the capital to small, medium, or large. The study also focuses on issues of alimental security which is considered a major contemporary issue, as it deals with estimating the amount of consumption of food industry products and estimating the gap in this sector by comparing the amount of production and the size of consumption against the size of imports, with the target of making strategies to reduce the size of the gap in this sector, specially with the W.T.O tendency toward liberating of agricultural commodities and the gradual cancellation of the import and export subsidies, which will result in the raise of prices of products from the exporting countries to the Importing countries, and with the purpose of creating a strategy to encourage investments in this sector and expanding the current production power, specially with the rapid growing population density.
