إن تكنولوجيا الاتصال تلعب دوراً فعالاً في كافة المجالات الخاصة التربوية ـ ومما زاد من أهميته ظهور شبكات الاتصال العالمية (الانترنت)، والتي مكنت من انفتاح أعضاء هيئة التدريس في مختلف كليات التربية على مصادر المعلومات في العالم وإمكانية تبادل المعارف فيما بينهما مهما بعدت المسافات، والعصر الحالي يعتمد بشكل كبير على الاتصال الإلكتروني، حيث يكتب النص بأحد البرمجيات ثم يخزن بما يحتويه من صور وأصوات ويتم نقله بشبكات محلية وخطوط هاتف وأقمار صناعية ، وقد يتم بثه على الهواء من خلال كوابل محورية أو ألياف ضوئية، ولقد شرعت العديد من الجامعات في المملكة العربية السعودية على تفعيل مواقع لها على شبكة الانترنت ومن أهدافها العديدة هي الاتصال مع منسوبيها من أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب من جهة والاتصال بالعالم الخارجي من جهة أخرى، وقامت المملكة العربية السعودية بتأسيس المركز الوطني للتعليم الالكتروني والتعليم عن بعد و الذي يهدف إلى تأسيس نظام تعليمي متكامل تحت مظلة وزارة التعليم العالي، ومن أهم أهدافهم دعم مؤسسات التعليم العالي الجامعي لتبنى احدث التطبيقات في مجال التعليم الالكتروني والتعليم عن بعد، وقام المركز بتبني بعض المشاريع ومنها نظام جسور لإدارة التعلم الالكتروني و هو منظومة برمجية متكاملة مسئولة عن إدارة العملية التعليمية إلكترونياً، والتي تم تطبيقها في بعض الجامعات السعودية(المركز الوطني للتعليم الإلكتروني والتعليم عن بعد 2007م،ص2). ولأهمية عملية الاتصال رأت الباحثة القيام بدراستها وتشخيص واقع استخدام تكنولوجيا الاتصال بالبيئة الجامعية، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى اقتراح آليات لتفعيل تكنولوجيا الاتصال بالبيئة الجامعية في ضوء التوجهات العالمية، تحتم تطوير أداء أعضاء هيئة التدريس والإداريين والبنية التحتية حتى يتمكن من تفعيل استخدام تكنولوجيا الاتصال بكفاءة في مجالي التعلم والتدريس وسينعكس ذلك إيجابياً على أداء الجامعة حيث سيرتقي بجودة الأداء الجامعي من مختلف الجوانب التنظيمية.

And the importance of the communication process saw the researcher to an examination and diagnosis of the reality of the use of communication technology environment university and found to suggest mechanisms to activate the communication technology environment courses in the light of global trends, necessitate the development of the performance of faculty members, administrators and infrastructure to be able to activate the use of communication technology effectively in the areas of learning teaching, and will reflect positively on the performance of the university where he will elevate the quality of university performance of different organizational aspects.
