Suq Al-Shuyuck City is considered as one of the most famous Mesopotamian southern cities. It is famous not only for its land fertility, abundant resources or strategic commercial location, but also for its prominent literature. This literature resulted in the creation of a vivid and comprehensive literary movement that helped people in handling their daily life affairs and contemporary Iraqi political events. Therefore, it was worth studying the characteristics of such a literary movement and shedding light on the various factors which contributed to its birth. This research relies on various references from different books, volumes, anthologies, journals and personal meetings. I depended, as much as possible, on the authors' poetry and literary writings that are available in periodicals and journals or in the authors' published books. It might be known to the dear reader that most of the works of Suq Al-Shuyuck authors have not yet been printed, which triggers the fear of losing them. It could also be noted that this research does not only deal with current literature, but also extends back to the literary movement before the time of tyrannical regime of Saddam. As mentioned earlier, the main purpose of this research is to revive the works of those authors who couldn't publish their works. Thus, I believe that the current authors of this City have much better conditions and are luckier in this aspect.
