يعد منهج الحيود السداسي (6σ) من أحدث المناهج المتبعة للوصول إلى درجة عاليـة من درجات الجودة فهو يهدف إلى تحقيق الكمال أو الاقتراب من الكمال في كل وجوه الأعمال في الشركة من خلال تقليل نسبة الفاقد وفرص ظهور المعيب وتقليل الانحرافات عن المتوسط المقبول وتحقيق رضا المستهلك، ونتيجة لذلك فإن الكثير من المنافع المالية يمكـن تحقيقهـا جراء تطبيق هذا المنهج، وأهم هذه المنافع هي تخفيض كلف الفشل فكلما زاد مستوى السيكما انخفض عدد العيوب مما ينعكس بالنتيجة على تخفيض كلف الفشل، ولغرض التحقق من ذلك فقد تم استخدام منهج دراسة الحالة من خلال اختيار مصنع الألبسة الولاديـة فـي الموصـل ليكون ميدانا لإجراء البحث بهدف تبيان أثر تطبيق منهج الحيود السداسي على كلف الفـشل والعلاقة بين نسبة العيوب وكلف الفشل، وخلص البحث إلى جملة من الاستنتاجات أهمهـا أن منهج الحيود السداسي يتفق مع المدخل الحديث في الجودة الذي يقوم على فلسفة التحـسين المستمر في الجودة، وأن تطبيقه يتطلب زيادة في كلف المنع إلى حد معين بـسبب التـصميم الجيد للمنتج واستخدام الوسائل الإحصائية للرقابة على العمليات ومنع حدوث أخطاء في العمل لضمان الجودة، ولذلك يعد تخفيض كلف الفشل من أهم المنافع المالية المتحققة جراء تطبيـق هذا المنهج وأخيرا انتهى البحث بجملة من التوصيات.
