The escalation in the Arabian Gulf is not new nor has resulted from latest global shifts in the region. It is neither limited to certain parties. It actually goes back to the emergence of the Islamic Republic in the aftermath of the victory of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Though it had been preceded by some tension in the Pahlavi era, it later witnessed further problems including several parties like Iran, Iraq and the United States. The present report explores the beginning of the matter, in addition to its drives and main parties. The investigation also covers the development of the Iranian nuclear program, along with the world countries’ stance, nuclear negotiations and sanctions. Finally, it is necessary to discuss the option of launching a military strike against the nuclear facilities and how realistic and efficient it could be
